SUMMARY: Responsible for the maintenance and repairs of Manitowoc crawler cranes with limited or no supervision in a highly skilled, safe and professional manner.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, safety regulations and handbooks. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and apply those concepts to work related situations.
Ability to comprehend and learn technical manuals. Ability to communicate both in person and via phone to others on how to troubleshoot equipment based on standard operating procedures and/or technical manuals. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Valid driver’s license and good driving record is required. Must be eligible to apply and be issued a TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Card) Able to meet forklift certification requirements. Enhanced driver’s license or valid passport for travel required. Crane certified.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Job is very physical and requires the individual to be able to perform duties and work long hours mainly outdoors in a variety of weather. The employee frequently is required to walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must be flexible and mobile to work in confined areas and able to stoop, crawl and maneuver in small confined spaces. Long hours of standing or sitting may be required.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals and may be required to wear air purifying respirator.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and mainly outdoors in a variety of weather. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; and vibration.
The noise level in the work environment is moderate in the office to very loud in the barge operation.
