Overview

Works with operations, contractors, and customers to ensure 100% efficiency in the logistics and operations in handling of perishable goods and packages.  Operating and decision making skills in a high volume environment.  Self-motivated and dependable.  High expectations on attendance and timeliness.

 

 

 

 

 

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilites:

Works closely with customers addressing issues to ensure expectations are met.

Generates all reports to contractors involving COD,  freight and package movement.

Handles customer, vendor, and peer correspondence and inquiries via email and phone.

Establishes and maintains files for customers and shipments.

Manually enters data using company systems. 

Proactively identifies root causes, recommends solutions, and implements solutions.

Works independently to meet all deadlines. 

Manage and process COD packages and payments.

Some duties may include handling freight in warehouse.

May travel to in-state contractor locations to perform audits and provide training on company systems and handheld devices. 

Consistent and predictable attendance

Qualifications

 

Qualifications:

 

High school education or equivalent and 5 years progressive work experience in operations, or a 4-year college degree and two years logistics experience.  Degree in business related field a plus.

 

Ability to read, comprehend, and write routine instructions, correspondence, and memos.  Ability to read and interpret documents such as tariffs, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Excellent telephone and written & verbal interpersonal skills to effectively present information in writing and in person in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

 

Ability to calculate freight rates and amounts such percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic mathematics to calculate percentages, discounts, and freight rates, including the effect of dimensionalized weight.

 

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out complex instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in nonstandardized situations, and able to solve unusual problems.  Ability to develop alternative solutions.  Understanding of transportation times in relation to meeting Airline flight cut-offs. 

 

Experienced user of MS Office products

Good organizational skills

Customer service skills.
