The Sr. Accountant is a key member of the accounting team who supports the General Office and the operating divisions of Lynden International.  This position will provide financial accounting and analysis support for all Lynden International companies.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following and may be performed personally or through others. Other duties may be assigned.


  • Working knowledge and understanding of US GAAP.
  • Performs general accounting functions related to period closing, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations and variance analysis.
  • Prepares more complex account reconciliations such as Transportation Payables, Bad Debt, etc. Works with other departments to clear reconciling items.
  • Prepares monthly revenue analysis to include shipment margin review.
  • Prepares financial (both domestic and international) and non-financial reports through Oracle EBS to meet management requirements. Reviews and analyzes financial statements to ensure accuracy.
  • Performs complex monthly analytical reviews on financial statements. Recommends improvements accordingly.
  • Experience with intercompany accounting and consolidations preferred, but not required.
  • Works closely with others in the finance and tax organizations, the independent public accountants and operational managers.
  • Assists with various departmental needs, including the year-end audit and other corporate financial requirements.
  • International Accounting knowledge preferred, including foreign currency accounting skills, but not required.
  • Ability to meet all required deadlines.
  • Consistent and predictable attendance required.




Four year accounting degree and minimum three to five years of related professional experience.  

CPA preferred.




·         Analytical skills and experience required.

·         Ability to read and interpret financial reports, technical procedures, and government regulations. 

·         Knowledge of financial statement analysis and how to interpret financial transactions.

·         Ability to work independently as well as be a team player.

·         Ability to problem solve, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. 

·         Experience with spreadsheet applications on PC, especially Excel, Word, & Access or other database programs. 

·         Strong verbal and written communications skills required.

·         Ability to meet all required deadlines.

·         Oracle EBS experience preferred.

·         Occasional travel may be required.
