    SUMMARY

    Lynden Incorporated, a Transportation and Logistics Company, seeks an experienced Software Developer skilled in Java, AngularJS and Microservices.  The successful candidate will work in a collaborative team environment to support the creation and technical deliver of enterprise software solutions, addressing business probelms and enhancing the customer experience.  The position requires strong interpersonal skills and the confidence to socialize and introduce new ideas and technologies to customers and coworkers.  

    Responsibilities

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Works closely with customers, business analysts and team members to understand business requirements that drive the analysis, design and development of quality/cost effective technical solutions, including mobile-based and E-Commerce customer applications.

     

    Builds solutions according to software engineering design best practices for maintainable and extensible code.  Ensures delivery of high quality software by writing clean code and utilizing unit test, continuous integration and code reviews.

     

    Analyzes project requirements, the existing environment, available technology and develops recommendations for appropriate technology solutions in Java, J2EE, Web and Angular JS.

     

    Provides training and post installation support for customers, coworkers and other IT support personnel.  Mentors less experienced team members through pair programming, code reviews and informal technical training sessions.

     

    Participates in component and data architecture design, performance monitoring, product evaluation and buy vs. build recommendations.

     

    Manages multiple tasks and projects concurrently, setting priorities and following through to successful completion.

     

    Reliability and timeliness are essential functions of this position.

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in related field and four years of programming experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

     

    OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

    Required:

    • Experience with Java object-oriented design principles
    • Experience with Agile software practices
    • Strong skills in technologies such as web services, JSON and REST architectures
    • Background with JavaScript technologies such as Node.js, Angular, Bootstrap and/or TypeScript

    Highly Desirable:

    • Experience with JBoss, JavaServerFaces or Spring
    • Knowledge of processes and concepts like Git, DevOps, Continuous Deployment and Continuous Integration
    • Desktop development experience with Swing and JavaFX

     

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Strong interpersonal and communications skills to facilitate work with technical personnel and business managers/administrators.  Required skills include bbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents; write reports, business correspeondence and procedure manuals; effectively present information to management, customers, and the general public.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to enter information and instructions into a computer keyboard.  The employee frequently is required to talk and hear.  The employee must be able to read information displayed on a computer monitor.
