Overview

SUMMARY:

This position performs a variety of duties to acquire, inventory, and distribute parts, supplies, tools and documents used in the daily operation of the maintenance program. Additionally, this position performs equipment control management by using the company’s equipment system and maintenance software program.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

  • Attendance and timeliness are essential functions of this position.

 

  • Acquire and expedite materials on a daily basis from the vendors with the direction of the Maintenance Manager.
  •  
  • Maintain and stock parts storage areas, inventory and tool storage. Ensure storage of stock in the correct location. Assign appropriate location to new stock items that maximize available warehouse space and forecasted activity of the item.
  •  
  • Operate parts acquisitions/distribution system and bar coding equipment. Identify stock when it is delivered to the facility and arrange for proper tagging.
  •  
  • Experience in TMT / Parts handling system.
  •  
  • Responsible for equipment setup detail in company software to ensure consistent and accurate reporting.
  •  
  • Work with maintenance system support group and provide maintenance system training to employees, as needed.
  •  
  • Maneuver vehicles and forklifts in a safe, courteous and efficient manner in an environment with limited space.
  •  
  • Perform maintenance systems checks of daily repair orders and invoices for accuracy and accountability.

Qualifications

 

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Must have current valid driver license with a clean driving record and the ability to drive company vehicles. CDL license a plus.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Ability to work independently, handle a variety of tasks at one time and meet stringent schedules and deadlines. Must possess organizational skills and have a positive attitude and be a team player.

Must be able to interpret packing slips, computer generated ordering and inventory documents.

 

Operate forklifts and other equipment in a courteous, safe, responsible manner including operating a motor vehicle for department needs.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. Employee is expected to be able to lift and transport by hand packages weighing 50 pounds with no problem. Employee occasionally may lift and or move packages up to 100 pounds without injury. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close, distance and the ability to adjust focus.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but hearing protection may be required at times. Safety glasses and safety vest is required at all times.
