  • Overview

    Directs and coordinates general operations of service center by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate. This customer service oriented postion requires the ability find solutions meeting customer, company and regulatory requirements. 

    Responsibilities

    RESPONSIBILITIES 

    Directly responsible for day to day operations.

    Interact with all terminal activities including warehouse functions and related dock operations.

    Establish cost control systems and oversee practices for improvement.

    Manage personnel as it relates to operations & customer service.

    Responsible for meeting customer service benchmarks. 

    Will also work in and around the warehouse as needed. 

    Works with programs such as 7L, in-house tracking program, and billing.

    Setup day to day schedule and responsibilities for group, including on call schedule.
    Support sales with day to day activities and make sure questions are answered in a timely manner
    Work with night operations team for transition with all day activities

    Works within company, customer and regulatory requirements

    Consistent and predictable attendance required.

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    Number of subordinates will depend on size of station and volume of business. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; working with the manager addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    Qualifications

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    High school education or equivalent and minimum 3-5 year’s work experience with a minimum of 1 year previous experience as a lead or supervisor preferred. Experience in freight forwarding a plus.

    Intermediate user of MS Office products.  

    Experience with freight movement applications, hazmat and FAA regulations

     

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret tariffs, general business periodicals, professional journals and manuals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

     

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

    Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to calculate and apply concepts such as dimensionalized weight, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. 

     

    REASONING ABILITY

    Strong analytical and quantitative skills.  Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

The employee works in and around a warehouse setting and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Experience using forklift and other warehouse machines a plus.
