Repairs and maintains industrial trucks, machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment by performing the following duties.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Five years of experience in repairing and maintaining Class 8 tractors and trailers or equivalent combination of diesel training/schooling and on-the-job experience in addition to:
• Experience with Cummins and/or Caterpillar engine maintenance and repair
• Five years of experience and/or training on troubleshooting and repairing heavy duty air brake systems
• Experience adjusting and troubleshooting Fuller transmission and clutch adjustments
Successful candidate must be able to demonstrate mechanical knowledge and be able to read electrical and mechanical schematic, repair manuals and job orders. Employee must demonstrate the ability to work alone or within a team environment.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with other employees and customers in the English language.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Employee must meet Department of Transportation requirements and must possess a valid driver’s license. A Commercial Driver's License with Class A Air, Doubles, and Tanker endorsements is preferred.
Employee must possess a brake certificate.
Employee must have own hand / air tools.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and occasionally move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

The Red Dog Mine is a remote location with rotational schedules. Lodging and meals are provided to those working on site. The successful candidate must be able and willing to work at a remote site for up to four weeks at a time and may be required to work different shifts during the scheduled rotation.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
