This position is responsible for assuring company compliance to customs brokerage, export compliance, and CTPAT regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Oversees all compliance issues for customs nrokerage, CTPAT, and export regulations for company adherence to related rules and regulations.
Develops content and format for regulatory submissions to the appropriate government departments.
Establishes, oversees and maintains audit and performance metrics for compliance to said programs and regulations as required for the system.
Advises customers of import requirements.
Ensure recordkeeping regulations are followed per appropriate regulatory agency requirements/ guidelines.
Air and overnight travel to service centers to audit files.
Provide procedures and training to regulatory programs to personnel as required by law.
Develops, implements, and reviews current policies and practices issued by Federal and international regulatory agencies.
Serves as regulatory affairs representative on assigned teams
Responsible for updating and implementing Lynden’s CTPAT program.
Reviews regulatory publications to keep apprised of new regulatory developments and directs applicable Quality improvement process.
Responsible for creating, modifying and updating Brokerage procedures manual.
Consistant and dependable attendance required.
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or ten years related experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience. Five years of experience managing a compliance program. Ten years as a licensed broker.
Current US Customs Broker’s license required.
Ability to travel overnight to remote offices.
Experience working with multiple stake holders while promoting organizational values and meeting government regulations.
A strong background in analyzing government regulations and problem solving to make changes where necessary and effectively promote knowledge and procedures to field personnel.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions and present solutions using written and verbal communication.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in MS Office products.
Ability to possess and maintain a TSA Security Threat Assessment(STA) with a status of Passed, or a TSA recognized equivalent. TSA recognized equivalents include a Secure Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge, Commercial Driver’s License(CDL) with Hazmat Endorsement issued within the 50 States or District of Columbia, the Transportation Worker Identification Card(TWIC), or Free and Secure Trade(FAST) card issued by U.S. Customs and Border Protection. STA’s will be submitted by Lynden International upon job offer and renewed thereafter. Recognized equivalents must be current at time of application and successfully renewed by the applicant thereafter.
