  • Overview

    Bering Marine Corporation provides bypass mail service throughout Western Alaska with their hovercraft.  The Warehouse receives, palletizes and delivers bypass mail to be delivered throughout the communities served.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.


    • Loading trucks with mail to be delivered to hovercraft.
    • Assist with the loading and unloading of vessels
    • Tracks and reports freight totals and reports it in a timely manner
    • Keeps logs of freight as required by company and USPS
    • Ensures safety of workplace upholds the safety policies of the Company.  Participates in safety meetings, JSA’s, and other reporting conditions
    • Maintains Communications with manager about capacities
    • Teamwork is a must

    Minimum  of 3 years of experience in a warehouse environment.

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, governmental regulations, and safety regulations. Ability to write reports and accurately record information into vessel records.   Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, crew, customers, and the general public. English speaking is required.


    Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.


    Ability to use common sense and sound judgment to deal with situations and multiple problems that occur simultaneously in a highly controlled and regulated environment. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.



    Minimum Requirements

    Ability to follow directions

    Operate forklift

    Driver’s license-preferred with CDL

    Ability to receive airport badge


    Must be available to work days, evenings, weekends, nights or holidays and to be away from home for extended periods of time.   Must be able to work in a team environment in close quarters for extended periods of time.  Must have good interpersonal skills and be able to get along well with various types of personalities, backgrounds, etc.


    While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear and smell. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.


    While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; explosives and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.



    Post-conditional offer of employment drug test is required. Random drug testing is required of all employees.
