Supervises and coordinates activities of employees in the warehouse operation by performing the following duties either personally or through subordinates.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
General supervision, training, and direction of warehouse personnel. Performs leadership responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees, including discussions leading to termination; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. High proficiency in supply chain concepts and principles including warehouse and distribution experience.
Business and personal computers skills and associated business software, including WMS.
Proficiency with warehouse design and layout. Forklift operations and other materials handling equipment.
The ability to acquire and maintain a DOT Medical Card, required to drive and operate vehicles over 10,000 GVW.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Four years related warehouse experience, leadership, delegation, and motivational skills.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, direct and indirect reports. Effectively communicate through company email correspondences.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
