Accountant will support accounting functions for Lynden Incorporated’s financial shared services provided to Anchorage-based Operating Companies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following and may be performed personally or through others. Other duties may be assigned.
Attendance and timeliness are essential functions of the job.
After initial training and orientation, the successful candidate may be considered for remote work up to 2 days per week but may be called into the office on short notice on remote days.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Trucking and air cargo transportation experience a plus. Oracle and Tableau experience a plus.
Analytical and Communication
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to manage and organize multiple deadlines, phone calls, emails and paper correspondence. Understands processes, policies and procedures. Identify improvements to policies and procedures and suggest revisions. Analyzes data, performs root cause analysis, documents process flow and suggests solutions. Effectively communicates verbally and in writing with team, management, customers and suppliers. Provides high level of customer service to meet service level standards.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and volume.
Leadership & Responsibility
Works independently on small tasks. Works with minimal supervision. Collaborates and works with a team. Willing to help when or where needed. Collaborates effectively with management, users, operating companies and all other departments within LI. Standard process decision making.
Other:
Employee must have PC and software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) knowledge and experience. Intermediate Excel skills should include - tables, SUM, formatting, freeze panes, filters, sorting, page setup, grouping, etc. The ability to use and troubleshoot a variety of machines such as copiers, scanners, telephones, etc. Employee must be able to type 35wmp and operate 10 key by touch. Employee must be flexible to work alone or as part of a team under pressure of deadlines or business volume increases.
